Pengharaman ini telah dikuatkuasakan oleh Suruhanjaya Pengawalan Telekomunikasi Jordan, yang mana selain PUBG, ada enam lagi video game, termasuk Fortnite, akan turut diharamkan tidak lama lagi.
Seperti biasa, game-game ini diharamkan atas alasan terhadap impak negatif yang mampu ditimbulkan apabila bermainnya. Suruhanjaya tersebut mengatakan satu kajian telah mengenalpasti bahawa game ini memberikan kesan buruk kepada ramai individu tidak mengira umur. Pengharaman ini dilakukan selepas mengambil kira rungutan yang diterima dari masyarakat terhadap keburukan bermain video game.
Sebelum ini Majlis Ulama Aceh telah mengeluarkan fatwa, mengatakan bermain PUBG adalah haram. Nepal dan sebahagian India telah turut mengharamkan PUBG. Untuk China pula, mereka telahpun menggantikan PUBG dengan satu versi yang lebih ‘mesra pemerintah’ kerajaan China.
